CAC is supported in part by the United Way of the Piedmont, a private, not-for-profit organization governed by a local board of volunteers. Their services cover the same three counties the CAC serves: Cherokee, Spartanburg and Union.

The United Way’s mission is to connect, engage and inspire people to transform our community. Their vision is to live united as an educated, financially stable, and healthy community.

Women Giving for Spartanburg awarded a grant of $31,746.00 for 2020-2021 to help CAC give children and families a warm “Women Giving” welcome in their time of crisis. This grant is allowing CAC to make much-needed repairs and remodeling work on our building to create a more welcoming, calming environment for children and families. In the past, Women Giving for Spartanburg awarded CAC a grant of $38,752.00 for 2013-2014 to fund 14 therapy scholarships for children in foster care. Thank you to these local women who are making a huge difference in the Spartanburg community!

CAC is an accredited member of the National Children’s Alliance, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that equips communities to provide a coordinated investigation and comprehensive response to child victims of abuse. National Children’s Alliance provides training, technical assistance, research, support and education to children’s advocacy centers, communities and child abuse professionals throughout the United States in support of child abuse advocacy and prevention. National Children’s Alliance provides child advocacy services and a national accreditation system to children’s advocacy centers based on standards and rated criteria, subject to review every five years.
