We are proud to announce the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers (“SCNCAC”) elected our Executive Director, Suzy Cole, to its Board of Directors on December 6, 2013.
“I am very excited to see Suzy taking a leadership role in the association that oversees and promotes the 17 children’s advocacy centers in the state,” said CAC Board Chair, Samantha Adair. “She will be a strong voice for abused children in South Carolina.”
SCNCAC is the accredited state chapter of the National Children’s Alliance. It is a nonprofit organization committed to serving all 17 children’s advocacy centers in South Carolina. Children’s advocacy centers are community-based programs that coordinate the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse while helping children heal. CACs bring together professionals and agencies as a multidisciplinary team to create a child-focused approach to abuse cases. The multidisciplinary team includes law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution, victim advocacy agencies, and the mental health and medical communities. Children’s advocacy centers in South Carolina served 7,211 children last year.
