An update from our Executive Director

Dear Friends of the CAC,
As you know, we canceled our March 21, 2020, Healing Through Art fundraising event, and due to the continued spread of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision not to reschedule the event for later this year. Each year at the event, we hold a live auction to sponsor child therapy sessions, a critical service at the CAC. We missed the live auction, but we hope you will still donate to support our therapy program.
The trauma-focused, evidence-based therapy provided at the CAC reduces a child’s symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and gives the children we see hope for a brighter future. In 2019, the CAC therapy program served 370 children, and we generally always have a list of children awaiting therapy.
At the onset of the pandemic, the CAC quickly made the shift to begin providing telemental health sessions in addition to in-person appointments when necessary. During the pandemic, many children have been isolated in unsafe conditions and distanced from safety networks and mandated reporters. While authorities have seen a decline in reports, experts believe child abuse has increased during this time of heightened stress and isolation. As time goes on and distancing measures ease, we anticipate an increased demand for our services.

Would you consider contributing financially to support our therapy program? A $50.00 contribution covers the cost of one 30 minute telemental health session.

 $100.00 = 2 sessions; $500.00 = 10 sessions; $1,000.00 = 20 sessions

Generous supporters like you make it possible for any child in need to overcome the heartache of abuse at no financial cost for the family. Please give today by visiting you for helping children heal!
